Note: To access the 4finance network from an unmanaged MacOS device, you will need to specify your mobile phone details for your 4finance account or configure the Authenticator app on your smartphone. You can find detailed instructions on how to set up multi-factor authentication in the manual here - How to set Multi-Factor Authentication
Please note that our Forticlient does not accept connections from networks using the IPv6 protocol. Ensure that your device is assigned an IPv4 address.
1. To get started, open the App Store on your iOS device and search for FortiClient.
2. You'll see multiple search results, so make sure to download the application with the exact name "FortiClient" (as shown in the screenshot below).
3. Once you've downloaded FortiClient, open the application. You'll be prompted to allow notifications and agree to the FortiClient terms of service. You can choose whether to allow or not allow notifications. If you agree to the terms of service and privacy policy, click "I accept" to proceed.
4. On the next screen, you'll be provided with a login window. You can log in using your Apple ID, Google account, and more, or you can simply click "Next" to skip to step 5.
5. When prompted, enter your device passcode to allow FortiClient to add VPN configurations. If adding VPN configurations is not allowed, you won't be able to connect to the 4finance Unmanaged VPN.
6. On the next screen, activate FortiClient by pressing "Connect to" and choosing "Scan QR Code". Scan the QR code below (you'll need to allow camera access for FortiClient). If your device doesn't support scanning QR codes, you can activate the license by connecting to EMS manually (details are provided below).
7. After scanning the QR code, please wait for the connection until you get prompted about an untrusted certificate, which you should allow.
8. Now that FortiClient is licensed, switch to the VPN tab and click on "Connections". You should see the preconfigured VPN connection named "vpn-lv.4finance.com_NM". Click on it to checkmark it as the default connection and return to the main screen of the VPN tab.
9. Turn on the VPN.
10. Enter your 4finance email, password, and complete 2-factor authentication to connect to the 4finance Unmanaged VPN.
11. Congratulations, you've successfully connected to the 4finance Unmanaged VPN!
a. Proceed until step 6 above.
b. Instead of scanning the QR code in step 6, connect to the licensing server manually. If "Connect to" in the Zero Trust Telemetry tab is not already set to EMS IP, set it by clicking on "Connect To" and choosing "EMS".
c. Click on "Specify IP" and enter the following: Host: ems.4finance.com, Port: 8013. Click "Done" and toggle Zero Trust Telemetry.
d. Finish with the remaining steps starting from number 7.
